About Me

Born in the beautiful Caribbean Island of St Lucia, I embarked on my nursing career in St Lucia where I practiced as a Nurse-Midwife before migrating to the United States to pursue further education. For over forty years Nursing has been my chosen profession. It has been full of challenges, yet also full of uplifting and rewarding experiences. Many of these experiences have given me the tools to motivate and inspire the next generation of nursing students as an adjunct clinical instructor. Embarking on a second career as a writer/speaker seems to have happen naturally as I continued writing, a hobby that encouraged and sustained me through the years. Working as a nurse pushed and stretched me to get more comfortable with public speaking and joining a toastmasters club helped build my confidence and enthusiasm for speaking. God’s placing me in a family of thirteen children is one of my most cherished gifts. I value my parents and my siblings, with all our idiosyncrasies, as one of God’s greatest favors in my life. The lessons that I learned in that natural homegrown classroom encompasses science, psychology, literature, math, debate and so much more. I strive to treasure that special gift. I am a farmer’s daughter, and therefore gardening is to me more than a hobby, it’s a healthy occupation that embodies many of the premises of good health my family embodied – exercise, nutritious food, fresh air, and the therapy of enjoying the wonders of God’s creation.

Having homeschooled three children over eighteen years, I have a high regard for the homeschool family. Educating and parenting your children at the same time poses its own unique joys and challenges. I hope to continue serving as a resource to encourage families by sharing some of what I have learned over the years. I now live in the state of Delaware with my husband and three children.

'Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me: 9Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.'

Proverbs 30:8-9
